The Joys of Coin Collecting

Welcome to my virtual coin collection. As a hobbyist, I specialize in collecting silver US coins, particularly from the early to mid 20th century.

For me, collecting coins is a blend of history, art, and a bit of treasure hunting. My grandfather would gift me coins every Christmas, mostly silver dollars and Silver American Eagles. I had stashed them away around the house over the years, and then one weekend I went to visit my best friend. His grandfather had recently passed, and he inherited a small coin collection as a result. He showed me his collection, and I remembered that I too had a small collection scattered about. So upon returning home, I gathered all the coins I had been gifted, and my hobby officially began. Since then I have amassed a collection of over 100 silver US coins, purchasing a few here and there when I have some extra money. It feels like a great way to invest, preserve a bit of history, and connect with my family.

Here, you'll find photos (COMING SOON) of some standout pieces as well as a generalized catalog of what I currently have in my treasure chest. The best part is that now it's a hobby that we all enjoy together as a family. We go to coin shows, my grandfather, dad, uncle, cousin, and I, and even have a group chat where we talk about new pickups and the price of silver.
It really is a lot of fun!
